It never ceases to amaze me that the Institution of Mechanical ENGINEERS (my capitalisation) manages to publish reheated guff peppered with commentary from people such as that famous non-engineer Christian Wolmar. It’s also fascinating that the quote from TfL is attributed to someone who no longer works there. The institution is full of people who could have provided some geneuine engineering insight.
