  1. That Bloomberg article shows up a (US) political problem, as nothing to do with transportation, except peripherally.
    There is, obviously, a sustained campaign by the US “republicans” against any public transportation – at all. Coupled with their usual fearmongering & deliberate misuse of statistics.
    Thi is simply not happening in any other developed country.
    Even here, the right wing simply don’t do this. Much subtler methods are used to benefit the motor manufacturers & road-builders (!)
    Nonetheless, it’s a valuable insight into some other people’s warped mind-sets.
